PTS Leffa is a blocky sans serif typeface family in eight weights, characterized by flattened curves and distinctly shaped tops and bottoms. These horizontal cuts give the letterforms a sturdy, grounded appearance and create a recognizable rhythm across words and lines of text.
The design balances geometric simplicity with an unconventional approach to familiar sans serif forms. Rounded characters are interrupted by flat sections, while straight-sided letters reinforce the typeface’s solid construction. The result is a family that feels compact and structural without becoming rigid.
Across its eight weights, Leffa changes considerably in character. The lighter weights reveal more of the underlying construction and individual letter shapes, while the heavier weights become increasingly dense and graphic. At the boldest end of the family, counters tighten and individual characters begin to work together as strong blocks of type.
Leffa is particularly at home in headlines, titles, identities, posters and editorial typography, where its distinctive shapes can become an active part of the visual language. Its relatively simple construction also allows it to step back when needed, making the family suitable for a broad range of display applications.
The defining idea remains consistent throughout the family: rounded forms made flatter, simple forms made more particular, and a straightforward sans serif construction given its own recognizable voice.
