Stylistic sets

With stylistic sets, you can replace certain characters with one from a font-specific set of stylistic alternatives. PT Schimetrik has 10 different sets:

Glyph substitutions

Some glyphs can be easily accessed with discretionary ligatures. For example Rightwards Arrow (→) can be accessed by typing hyphen (-) and greater (>), and activating Discretionary Ligatures.

  • Vertical bar | + Greater-Than Sign > = Downwards Arrow ↓
  • Less-Than Sign < + Vertical bar | = Upwards Arrow ↑

  • N + degree ° = numero №
  • N + ordmasculine º = numero №

Type capital “N”, followed by “degree” (°) or ordmasculine (º), and activate Discretionary Ligatures to turn these two characters into a nicely designed Numero character (unicode 2116).
